Black Mountain Summit

Warm November day. Started with a steep climb from the neighborhood street where we parked. I was impressed with the views of Santa Clara Valley: Apple Park, Moffett Field, downtown SJ. Mid portion of the hike had wonderful tree canopy and ferns. Looked a lot like rain forest, a contrast to the dry terrain at the beginning and the summit. Got pretty steep towards the top and then leveled off at the summit. We walked to the “moon rocks” to find the summit medallion. Steep going down from the top to midsection switchbacks, then steep again at the bottom to get to the car.
