We started our hike at 7:06 AM. That was a great choice, as the cool morning air made the ascent enjoyable. The Mt. Umunhum Trail offered a perfect balance of challenge and tranquility, with its gradual inclines and scenic switchbacks. Standing at the summit, surrounded by panoramic views and the historic radar tower, was an unforgettable experience. For me this was the 3rd or 4th time to summit this mountain.

This hike remains a standout for its accessibility, stunning vistas, and a rewarding summit that encapsulates the beauty of the Bay Area. A must-do for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts!

Tips: Arrive early as there are only few parking spots; Decent footwear but sturdy shoes best if it is wet and also patches of rock near the top; Bring plenty of water; Starting early will not only avoid the heat but also ensures quieter trails and beautiful lighting at the summit.
