The trail conditions were a bit muddy in select areas due to the recent rains.  There were always ways to get around the wet/muddy spots. The hike was fairly flat and easy-to-moderate until the last half mile to the peak. The summit was so sudden that I even commented “when do we start going up?!?” when we were just about .6 miles from Sitton Peak.

It was the perfect hiking weather in the mid-60's and sunny with whispy clouds.

The bathrooms were closed due to the Federal shutdown so the only restrooms were out on the trail (i.e. in nature)! A sign on the door of the candy store said that no Trail passes are needed during the shutdown.

The trailhead is actually along the road on the same side as the Candy store.  We found this confusing as it is across the street from the main parking lot.

Pack in and pack out all of your belongings as the garbage cans in the parking lot are also not being emptied due to the Federal shutdown and are quite full and rank.
