This trail has serious elevation gain. From the start, it's nearly continuous uphill. Gradual for the first third to half mile, the grade increases rapidly as you climb the first ridge and then the main ridge. The final 200 feet are primarily scrambling over and around large boulders and rocks. The huge chunks of quartz at the peak are amazing, as is the view.
