We started the hike early morning in foggy conditions.  And ended with beautiful blue skies but very windy.

Our preferred route for this challenge was an out and back in the counterclockwise direction of the route detailed on social hiker site to avoid the steep climb.  Manzanita Point Road was a steep decent to Poverty Flat. Poverty Flat was a steep climb to Jackass. We were happy to reach Jackass Trail which was a gradual climb but in sections the tall grass covered the trail.  Then back over the Blue Ridge Road for a climb to Mount Sizer. The views, surrounding hillsides and still many wildflowers made this a memorable hike.  The downside was all the hiking in the roads – not my favorite terrain.
