2 Peaks in 1 day – Bighorn and Ontario
Day Hike in the Cucamango Wilderness
It was my first time in the Cucamonga Wilderness and it was absolutely breathtaking. The first miles in the Canyon are very peaceful, just a lot of gravel and loose rock to navigate. After that the real climbing begins up to the Icehouse Saddle. Tons of switchbacks and just find your pace and stride as you climb up.
The saddle was beautiful, just very very cold – there was a chilly wind blowing. From there I continued on Ontario Peak Trail to make it up to Bighorn Peak and Ontario Peak.
Both Peaks were absolutely beautiful- the climbs to both were challenging, especially Ontario Peak just because my legs were really tired by then.
All in all absolutely worth it – I left beautiful Summit Signs on both Peaks – Enjoy!
