Finally, I had the chance to hike San Bernardino Peak! There were only two cars in the parking lot, so I expected to have plenty of peace and solitude along the 16 miles of hiking ahead of me. The climb was mostly a steady but manageable grind through the fire-damaged landscape. The Limber Pine Spring was reported to still be flowing, so I brought a lighter water load. At the summit, I soaked in the views of San Jacinto Peak, San Gorgonio Mountain, and Mt. Baldy before finding a nice log to rest upon and enjoy my lunch. After snapping my photos and crossing my 5th peak off my 2025 Six Pack of Peaks Challenge, I made the long descent back to the car.

  1. I was up there the next day after you! Amazing to see how much was burned in 2020. More shade would have been nice. Happy trails!
