In Loving Memorial of Paul Avila
Also on this hike
On July 1st, I was saddened by hearing the passing of my good friend, Paul Avila. He was only 50 years young. He was my life coach. He helped me through dark times. He runs a non-profit organization Pauly’s Project that help out homeless people. I’m a volunteer of Pauly’s Project.
Paul’s passing greatly impacted me. I was so heartbroken about it. On a beautiful Sunday morning, I decided to hike up Mount Baldy in Paul’s memory. This was a memorial hike I dedicated to Paul.
I arrived at Manker Flats at 5 a.m. There were many cars parked as I arrived. I secured a parking space. My intention was to go up the Ski Hut and to Mount Baldy. I accidentally passed the Baldy Bowl trail. I didn’t realized it until I saw the Notch in front of me. I stayed at the Notch to view the morning scenes. Then I started my hike up to Devil’s Backbone. The trails were well-maintained. I had no problem. Then I slowly climb up to Mount Baldy at a turtle pace. The views were so breathtaking. I took a few photos and headed down. It was a breeze going down. Once I got to the Notch, I used the public restroom to wash up. Then I started to make my way down.
Woohoo! Mount Baldy completed
