Safely Scaled Sandia Summit

An excellent challenging hike with almost 4,000’ of ascent, taking you through desert, pine forest, and alpine ecosystems. Well-maintained switchback trail through impressive towering rock formations. I was fortunate to enjoy beautiful weather so had an extended lunch at the viewing platform. Many wildflowers to enjoy including Showy Goldeneye; Desert Globe Mallow, and Havana Snakeroot.  Took a little over eight hours to complete the ascent and return. Now added to the list of one of my favorite hikes.
