Hazy Skies on Black Crater

After grabbing some brew at Sisters Coffee and a short drive to a quiet and almost empty parking lot at the trailhead, the wifey and dog and I started our adventure. Trail was in good shape the whole way up. Decent incline and several different landscapes along the way including a unique burnt section. Once we got to the top, it was a bit other-worldly as the forest becomes mostly barren and the surface becomes lava rock. But the views are amazing if not a little intimidating as you approach the edge of the mountain. We started in the mid morning and only saw 5 other hike groups total. great weather the whole time. Very windy at the top. Amazing hike!!
