I thought the uphill was tough!

An Awesome Day for the hike.  Temp was in the 70’s, lots of sun, and surprisingly no wind (though, that could have come in handy with the bugs).  Only one other group was out there and speaking to the ranger manning the fire tower, even he was surprised since the day was perfect.  Now, the flying nuisances!  Most of the Palomar Divide Road section had these bugs and I got a couple of bites to my neck.  So, my bad for not packing, but definitely consider bringing your face net.  And, be sure to celebrate making it to High Point, because the downhill is waiting for you.  Lots of loose rocks, so be watchful.  To wrap this up with a positive note . . . this was my first time and happy to see lots of parking (hang the Wilderness Pass) and lots of sign posts making sure you don’t get lost in the beginning.
