Finishing the Challenge at Mount Baden-Powell
Also on this hike
I got to Vincent Gap near 1200H noon and while I was prepared to pay for the new 3rd party parking pass at the trailhead parking lot, there were vacant spots in the lot across the street which were free with my Inter-Agency Pass so I parked across the street instead. There was a group that had assembled and were either finishing their hike or were preparing to hike. I started hiking shortly afterwards. There were a lot of hikers I encountered on the way up but none at the summit. At around 7000 there is snow on the trail. The trail though was still visible and I did not need to use my microspikes although I had them if needed. The summit itself is still mostly snow-free other than a few areas. I stayed for a while at the summit before heading down. It was still daylight when I got back to my car.
