Hiked with a group

No rain, but got soaked as is often the case along this ridgeline – fog so think that it is misting and all the grass and trees are dripping.  This makes for spectacular mossy trees and bridges and for cooler hikes in the hotter months.

Our route included 6 miles along the Bay Area Ridge Trail to get (back) to Pan Toll campground where we would be spending the night before then shuttling and hiking another section of Ridge Trail from Samuel P. Taylor back up to this hike’s start, where we left a car.

Our Tam route was up the Easy Grade Trail in anticipation of this being added as a bike route for Ridge Trail. Then we took Rock Springs trail to the West Point Inn and up the Railroad Grade to the summit.  There were amazing views from the summit!  Only the Golden Gate was shrouded by fog but most every other direction had some view.
