Peak 5 of 6: Mount Sizer
Also on this hike
I completed this hike for the Bay Area Six-Pack of Peaks challenge. This was a tough one & I was really feeling it during that final stretch of elevation gain.
It was cold & windy, perfect for these longer hikes. Had to shed/add layers several times. Other than the employee at the visitor center, i didn’t see anyone else the entire trip (was a Wednesday).
Glad I went clockwise. I enjoyed the shortcut b/c it was so early in the trip, and i definitely prefer going up a steep path than coming down one. This part of the hike alone is why it should be done clockwise. Who’s gonna brag about going DOWN the Bay’s steepest trail? (maybe knee pain enthusiasts).
An awesome hike w/ excellent views (the section from Jackass peak down to Los Cruzeros camp is really something to experience).
With Gratitude, Narayan
