The first and last time I forget bug spray

I’ve never forgotten bug spray before but WOW I wish I didn’t on this hike. The bugs were awful in the shade and forest areas, which is most of the hike. I had to constantly swat them away and my arms were sore the next day – not even joking. My bug spray lives in my backpack now.

I started my hike around sunrise. Not many people on the trail. It started heating up a bit towards the end but was overall an enjoyable hike! Great views at the top but unfortunately couldn’t find a Mt. Volcan sign, if there was one. Pretty easy and doable. Felt safe as a solo hiker!
