In which we learn to deal with rocky situations
Also on this hike
I enjoyed this hike very much. The trail was well maintained and the foot traffic is light. It was windy on the day that I went, but the weather was still perfect — cool and sunny. There were a few tree longs along the trail that are nice spots to sit and read or just enjoy the views and wildlife. But the peaceful mood was rocked when I decided to take the Chapman trail after it sliced several miles off. I was trying to avoid the rocks and boulders on the way back to the trailhead and decided this shortcut would ease things. Nope. In fact, the trail is mostly made up of loose rocks. There are also few spots where one can sit and rest, few areas with shade and it takes so much out of you that you’re having to rest more. In the end, I learned not all shortcuts are worth taking.
