🇺🇸 Mt Baden-Powell with a Pup
Also on this hike
This hike is a little bit of a pain to get to from LA due to the road closure on the Angeles Crest Highway, but it’s very much worth the effort! It’s a gorgeous trail that is really well-maintained. We started early-ish (around 7am), and we honestly couldn’t imagine starting much later. It was pretty warm on the way down, and I don’t think I would’ve loved hiking up in that heat, especially with Inari.
The summit was beautiful! Amazing views all around, and we even found a perfect spot to eat lunch under a tree. We got lucky with our timing— by the time we wrapped up our lunch, large groups of people started to summit, so we had a very peaceful time avoiding most of the crowds!
I’m feeling physically so great with peak #4 for this challenge! I’m really proud of how far Inari and I have come to get to these heights. Her trail skills are getting so solid. She’s really polite and moves out of the way to let people pass when I ask her to, and when we relax to have lunch she doesn’t bother anyone around us.
I’m always so happy when Garrett joins me for these kinds of hikes. Admittedly, I really wanted him to come so he could help me break up the long drive, but it’s so so special having him join us on some of the hikes for this challenge. I love the confidence I am building while hiking solo with Inari, but the companionship is unbeatable when it’s with the ones I love most in the world.
