Google Maps shows Hwy 2 closed after Big Pines but it’s not. It’s closed right after the Vincent Gap parking lot. $5 cash to park. Got there around 5:30 AM and lot was empty. Hike is an incline the entire way. About 700 ft of elevation per mile. I’d start early, it gets hot. Beautiful views at the top. Hit the Wrightwood Bakery on the way back. Nice fresh homemade cinnamon roll.
