Apparently I picked the one weekend when millions of California tortoiseshell butterflies decided Lassen was the place to be. Not a bad trail crew to have cheering you on.
One more reminder that the best part of these challenges isn’t just checking off peaks…it’s never knowing what the mountain has in store.
