We hiked Mount Tam once years ago and it did not end well.
Our second attempt: much more successful. As always, we arrived at the Dipsea trail to a surprisingly empty parking lot. We enjoyed the absolutely stunning greenery all the way up to the camp. A moderately hard hike, but nothing horrible.
The path from the camp to the Inn and finally to the peak went better than expected. It was semi strenuous, but we made it up with zero brakes.
The boardwalk trail to the top brought us home.
We took Matt Davis trail on the way back…which was a choice. Easily the hardest part of the hike.
In the end we did it!! Redemption.
