The weather and trail conditions were just about perfect for this hike.  Clear sunny day with good visibility.   There was fresh snow on the upper parts of the trail with small areas of ice.   The worst ice was on the pavement at the top, almost got me twice.   I would expect there to be more ice on this trail if the thaw and freeze conditions continue.  Take micro spikes and poles at a minimum.   Over all just a great hike except  the snack bar was closed.  Just a reminder, on a sunny part of the trail below the snow line there was a small gopher snake on the trail.  Even if its still cold don't forget your normal snake precautions.
