Usually we hear comments here, that Mt Umunhum is the easiest hike in#SixPackOfPeaksNorCal. So we chose to hike our way up to Mt Umunhum summit, the hard way, taking a longer route. As suggested in #SixPackOfPeaks site, the typical hike from Bald mountain trailhead is just 7.7 miles with just 1,187 ft elevation gain. But we recommend a hike via Woods trail which take 16 miles and total elevation gain of 2,933 ft. Here is AllTrails link for the trail we recommend. This will be a good training for Mt. Whitney.

For most part of the hike there were showers and it was a cold foggy day. The Woods Trail had breathtaking ambience full of lush green. Lots of moss and water streams all through the trail. This hike was harder than Mt St Helena.
