After much needed rain in SoCal, I finally ventured out and this hike did not disappoint. It took me just about 4 hours for the out and back and most of that was waiting for traffic as like minded folks hit the trail too. I was on the trail solo, until the peak then everyone, including dogs came along. There were probably 30 of us up there. Too many for me, so a few quick photos for proof and i was back down.
The trail is marked but the rain run off and rocks made sure footing difficult. All the rocks and water created a deep V slanting the sides of the trail. Be careful as rocks and debris would come lose.
The weather was near perfect. I started the climb at 7 and it was 57 degrees…by the time I got back to my car, it was 75 degrees.
My feet hurt from this walkabout, mostly from the unsure and uneven footing. I will tie my laces stronger next time to avoid the shift
