We were worried Sunday morning driving out of the city because it was windy and foggy, but it ended up being a perfectly clear day. The hike from Stinson Beach to the Summit of Mt Tam is mostly a gently sloping, easy hike. The first wooded part on the Dipsea Trail is probably the most beautiful part of the hike. Beautiful trees, streams, and a fun little ladder to mix things up. There is no real technical or topological challenge to the hike – you could easily bring kids as long as they can walk 15 miles. The back down the Matt Davis Trail was surprisingly nice as well – great grassy hills and forest.
