The four of us, in decent shape, along with one high energy pup, took on this hike in about 8 hours. We arrived Easter Sunday at about 6:30AM and the parking lot was full, so we had about a 4 minute walk to the trailhead as we parked down the road. The 3 mile incline to the summit is a definite doozy (as is the paved fire road that where you start/end this hike from Chantry Flats). It was quiet and overcast – we got about 30 seconds of clear skies, enough to see the snow capped mount baldy! Hiking poles are a good idea on this one, and definitely some solid stamina!
