The fog lasted almost all day so we (Robert Walter and I) didn't get to see much of the view. We started up Winter Creek and encountered many squirrels and salamanders on the way up we found much poison oak very close to the trails. Many ferns and manzanitas and pines. We toured the Mt. Wilson observatory.  The snack bar (Cosmic Cafe) was closed.   We descended the Sturtevant Creek Trail and found it a much steeper initial descent than the Winter Creek Trail was a final ascent.  It was also about 4/10 mile shorter than the Winter Creek Trail.  It was interesting because it was the canyon route with many creek crossings and many man-made waterfalls.
