We summited Santiago Peak via the Cadillac and Joplin trails. It was a beautiful hike, but very treacherous coming down, as the trail is very steep, Rocky, and slippery towards the bottom.this Trail is currently the only way to reach the summit, as all other trailheads are closed due to last year's fire. I would happily hike up Joplin Trail again, but I do not ever want to come down at again. I will wait until Holy Jim Trail is reopened, and descend via that route.
