Everyone should attempt the incline at least once – it sounds like a great idea before you start – but then the reality sets in.  And you make it and feel a huge sense of accomplishment – and basically say “Never Again”.

Then this challenge came up and back to the incline we go.  Definitely noticed the difference carrying a regular day pack (albeit I did limit it to 21 pounds total).  Made the incline more challenging so my time was slower than last year but still acceptable.

Took 5 minutes then proceeded up the “trail”.  Maybe because it is early season there were definitely sections where the trail was hard to follow.  I had the GPS route though so was able to navigate that way.

Day was a bit hazy so the view form the top was generally nice but the further off the hazier the picture.   A large family group was behind me and we all arrived at about the same time (the kids were all over the rock).

The best picture were actually from the area around the top boulder – including a nice “keyhole” type view.

The descent down Barr Trail was standard but with the additional hike to the summit I didn't feel like jogging down the path as much as I did last time.

Undoubtedly I will end up doing the incline again next year….”insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results”.
