Took off this morning from Phoenix to bag my second peak of the challenge. Even though the temperature was cooler the steady incline and bright sun can be a little warm. I was glad I brought my poles today as there were several areas with loose gravel. Decided to hike both to the north and to the south so finished with about 10.4 miles. Views from the south were: Midgely Bridge, Sedona, Cottonwood and Jerome with an awe inspiring canyon below. To the north I think I spotted Jon Snow from GOT traveling with some wildlings. Maybe he did not get enough of winter and was traveling to a Humphrey’s for his fill of snow. All joking aside I could have wandered around the top for hours as beauty was plentiful. A hiker I encountered said the hike was worth it just for the peace and tranquillity and his description was spot on.
