Snow as low as Manker Flats trail head when we started this morning around 6 am. San Antonio Falls was flowing nicely. Pavement road was a bit challenging to walk up as it had a nice layer of ice along the top. Micro spikes would probably help there, after that it turned to snow which provided much better traction. Weather was great hiking up. Devils backbone was a bit sketchy due to all of it being covered in snow and some areas melting. Made it through without micro spikes or crampons. One section gets very narrow and snow is beginning to melt, be VERY CAREFUL, not much room for mistakes through that tight section. Reaches the peak and man was that wind BLOWING!!! Had to layer up quickly as temperatures were almost unbearable at the peak. Skies were clear view was GREAT. All and all amazing hike, really enjoyed the snow.
