What an epic hike. Arrived at Chatry Flat around 5.30am. Plenty of parking spots but starting to fill up as we started the hike at 5.45am. Started via Sturtevant Trail. What a gorgeous hike. Stream was gushing all the way. Walked through the mist and then up above the clouds. The last 2 miles or so up to the Mt was a slog but beautiful. Lots of mozzies but only a problem when stopping. The views from the top were amazing. Came down via Rim Trail. Tonnes and tonnes of poison oak. I’ve never seen so much. Poodle Bush for part of the way also. But a nice manageable hike down after the march uphill. The car park and road for miles down was a zoo. I’ll be sore tomorrow. I’m sore now. But gorgeous hike.
