With Steve and Dan – Tuesday 7am start the morning after the low moved in. We got lucky on the weather with blue sky's as a few clouds pass by. This is my 2nd time doing this hike. I like this hike because you are mostly under a canopy of the forest. Near the top maybe 1″ of snow in the shady spots from the night before. It was 37 degrees with a 5mi winds. Made it to the comic cafe 6.69mi in 3hr 48min and took a break and ate that PB&J with my back to the sun – it was great.. After some photos of the tower and the marker we headed down. The top section on the decent was burnt in a fire this past year and lots of RED on the rocks and trees from the Crosscheck fire retarded that the DC-10 dropped on it. Back at the car from summit 6.62mi in 3hr 20min. Total = 13.31mi in 7hr 8min. I saw a total of 6 people (one was a group of 4) on the trail. Totally rare even for a week day.
