Slip & Slide

Elden is always a steep fun challenge on the way up. My favorite route is up Elden, across Sunset, down Heart and back on Christmas Tree. Unfortunately, Sunset is closed for the foreseeable future due to a logging project…BUMMER! The Elden Lookout descent is not my favorite, and this time was very loose dirt with gravel making it extra slick in spots. Slid out a couple of times…not fun on the side of the mountain, but slowed down and got it done! Weather was perfect! Can be a warm one if you hike it in the summer afternoon.
