Windy and Dog Tired

A cloudy day, buggy for the first couple of miles on Monroe Trail. At the peak encountered strong winds, winter-like temperatures. A brief stop to admire the view while avoiding being blown over…Back on the trail, enjoyed the breeze in the trees and lack of bugs at higher elevations.

In the final half mile came across a golden retriever and owner, the poor golden was suffering from the hike, overheated and clearly sore. We shared the rest of our water and coaxed the golden down the last half mile to the car. We hope it is okay.
