Black Crater Hike

Not much more to add than what Jeff already said except that now 242 is open. Yay!

We lost the trail approx 1000’ to the summit and snow already covered Jeff’s tracks so keep an eye on your bearings and use caution when crossing snow fields…really steep grades and easy to slip if not careful.

Unfortunately we were cheated out of views at the top due to heavy fog. We encountered strong wind gusts and snow so come prepared. Took us about 2.5 hours  to summit.

Sad to see the devastating results of the Milli fire on our way up but it made for lots of interesting tree character!
