I'm 2 for 2 on this hike! I've summited both times…and I've also been injured both times. This peak really hates the right side of my body for some reason. Last year I injured my right hip flexor in the first mile…but kept going. This time I injured my right achilles tendon at some point on the last push to the top, or on the way down. I could say that I hate this trail but I don't. It's one of the only trails that has 3 very distinct regions. Also, I met some really great people on this trail this time around. There's something about hiking in the snow on a major peak that brings out the nicest people. The top half of the trail was covered in snow/ice and we loved every minute of it. Especially the last mile or so after the trail disappeared. Always an adventure!! On the way down we got the fog and an awesome sunset. Definitely made up for the injury. Onwards and upwards! Literally lol Oh and PS. Apparently the hills were alive with the sound of music. One of my pics says it all LOL (Looks like I love singing at altitude)
