I waited two years to hike this peak. Now I've finally done it. Ever since last years brush fire the original Holy Jim trailhead was closed and The Indian Truck trail from the Lake Elsinore side was closed as well. However, their was another trailhead that was off of the same route leading the Holy Jim Trailhead. The catch was that it was located on OC water and electric private property. I didn't know that at first. There was a Highway Patrolman that was waiting on everybody that parked there to warn us not to parked there anymore and spared us a ticket.

Anyway, the hike was long and tough. For the most part it was simple to follow. The steep inclines were murder on my legs. The bugs were relentless. The flowers were in full bloom. Their aroma hit my nose before I approached them. The view was awesome especially seeing the contrast between the burned side of the mountain and the untouched side. Spent about an hour at the top took plenty of photos, encountered a juvenile rattler and took a close up pick of an lizard.
