Probably the easiest hike on the list for Six Packs Peaks NorCal, so we did this one first back in March 2019. Ended up being a very rainy day, which with the elevation, turned into snow. The storm was on its way in when we started and snow started gradually but then came down pretty hard. This was actually really exciting for us Californians to hike in, and made the easier hike on the list much more adventurous.
This trail is still pretty new, so the trail conditions were great aside from mud. Weather was snowy, wet and cold which was fun. Overall this was a great start to the NorCal challenge and it got my sister and I (my six packs hiking partner) motivated to start planning out the rest of our hikes for the year.
I have done this hike in much better weather before, and the view from the top is 360 degrees, with views of the Bay Area, Santa Cruz, Gilroy and Hollister, and San Francisco. A great way to see Silicon Valley from above. This day, however, was nothing but clouds, wind, and cold. It was great.

What an adventurous start to our challenge! I only wish we could have bottled some of that snow to bring out during our Sizer hike. 😉
