Mount Baldy with friends

We started at 5:00 am to beat the crowds. The day was beautiful and cool (68 at the summit). Probably our hottest decent so far. We had a dear cross the trail in 20 yards in front of us. Not too crowded at the peak when we were there around 9:00. We came up Devils Backbone and descended along the Baldy Bowl Trail. Lots of people coming up that way. Looked like a tough climb. We had a friend along for the hike and this was his first SoCal peak. He did Wilson with us but that didn’t compare to Baldy. Still can’t get over how beautiful it is up there. Can’t wait to get back out. San B. here we come.
