I'm not fond of the monotony of the switchbacks from Vincent Gap, so I started at Dawson Saddle instead.  The elevation gain is roughly the same and it's far prettier.  I also summited Throop and Burnham on the way.  I was booking it–finished the 10+ mile hike in 4 hours.
