Bear Mountain is a beautiful but challenging hike that is best hiked when the weather is more temperate. We began at 9am (later than we planned) and summited at about 11:30. The 100 degree heat made it a much more difficult hike. The descent was spectacularly gorgeous, but being completely exposed to the sun at noon-time wasn’t the best planning on our part. We each had 4L of water and needed all of it. I can’t wait to do this hike again when it’s cooler. After yesterday’s hike,  I think we’ll save Wilson for October and head further north for the next few weekends!
