It was SOOOO cold — winds were fierce as well (over 50 MPH at the Peak). If you go this time of year, bring warm gloves and head-gear (which I did not unfortunately). This hike will always be memorable to me because about 0.5 miles from the Peak I slipped and dislocated my shoulder. I was going to turn around but two young men (in their 20s) who came up as I was recovering encouraged me to continue and promised to hike to the Peak with me to make sure I did not hurt myself further. They also followed me down the Peak and through the more tricky part of the climb down. Without them, I would not have finished the hike but because of them I did!
