This was a very fun, challenging hike, with lots of different terrains to make for an adventurous day with views of THE WHOLE BAY! And they just got better with the climb.
And climb you will, with the hardest climb right before Prospectors Gap. After that its Summit trail to the top, which provided views of the flatlands east of the bay and onward for what seems like forever.
The last 1/2 mile on Summit trail is the only part I didnt like since it was through the Summit parking lot, and I think I was just ready to be there at that point.
The hike down was a mile of single track to Juniper Campground and then a small amount of paved road. Then it was fire road all the way back, which was a welcome change of pace after all the single track climbing the summit.
We also saw a tarantula and he was very chill.
Overall I would say this is one of the more challenging but also more fun of the hikes. My hiking partner and sister @jenni says this is probably her favorite.
Very fun and exciting hike, would definitely do again.
