It was an overcast and misty morning and I wasn't sure whether to attempt this long hike. I started at 7 am and the parking lot was full already. I figure I would at least start it. There were many hikers starting at the same time but soon we stretched the line out and I felt like I was hiking alone most of the time up to the saddle. It was windy and cold at the saddle where I stopped to rest and eat a snack. There were several hikers stopped here to rest and many passed through but as I headed on out to Ontario Peak there were less hikers headed this way. I was feeling the sunlight on me now and as I crested onto a ridge I was faced with a jaw dropping view of being above the clouds. It felt like I was above a white ocean stretching out to the horizon. I made it to the peak and stopped to have lunch and rest. After taking pictures and signing the summit register I searched for a geocache nearby but could not find it after a long search. It was getting late in the afternoon and I wasnt sure I had enough gas for an attempt at Bighorn Peak so I just headed down reaching the parking lot at about 4:30 pm. I felt accomplished completing this long hike.
