Started the hike around 9am. A bit later than what recommendations had suggested. The trail wasn't too busy. Definitely noticed hikers passing me by and were very friendly. The trail conditions were great. The fall weather was in full effect with lots of fall scenery. From the very beginning, the trial wasn't too bad to hike. As I approached mile #4, the trial became very rocky as you begin to ascend the Cucamonga peak itself. The weather was perfect for hiking conditions. Sunny all day long. It was much cooler than I had originally expected. I checked the temperature for the day before leaving home to get an idea of what the weather would be like. Weather temperatures were expected at high 80's to low 90's. Didn't feel like those conditions at all. Much cooler. As I continue to gain more elevation, I could feel the winds getting much stronger. Overall, I loved this hike because of the challenge in itself & the views. The overall distance was 12 miles. As someone who is beginning their hiking journey in the Inland Empire, the Cucamonga Peak is definitely a tough for myself. Thankful that I brought lots of water and lunch/snacks (don't worry, kept all my trash in my bag and tossed out in the trash bags next to the parking lot). I couldn't help but to feel so satisfied that I pushed myself to reach the top.
