Me and Whiskey dog started at Manker Flats at about 7:15am and took the Ski Hut trail up to the summit. The altitude was definitely a butt kicker, but we made it up to the summit around 11am…..we were not going too fast and stopped for lots of pics and water breaks, Hung out on the summit for about a half hour, Whiskey had fun playing in some of the small patches of snow as she had never seen snow before.
Took the Devils Backbone trail on the way down to complete the loop and got back to Manker Flats around 2pm.
Weather was pretty nice….mostly sunny with a few clouds, some stronger gusts of wind from time to time but overall pretty decent.
This was such a awesome hike! Definitely no joke and my legs were hating me after, but I know I will be doing this one again in the near future. Now time to plan the next peak!!!

Congrats on the hike! Is the trail safe to climb now with no special equipment? No crampons needed? We are thinking of going in a few weeks.
Thank you! The trail was almost completely free of snow and ice, so you will be fine without any crampons or other equipment. Only some small patches up on/near the summit, and nothing that you actually need to hike through.
