We hiked up Mt. Wilson Trail to the Observatory making a circle back down on the Sturtevant Trail. Total mileage was 14. The wind was gusting up to 35mph but we were sheltered by the mountain and trees for most of the hike. We got whipped up a few times when we were more exposed. The trail was empty so it was very tranquil. Slow and steady all the way. The only tough part was the last ascent up to the parking lot at Chantry Flat. After a long day of hiking the last hour was all uphill. We were tired and elated. Great hike! Our first ascent on the Six-Pack challenge.
