It was a beautiful sunny and cool day. First time ever hiking up to Cucamonga Peak. We’ve passed by the Icehouse Canyon trailhead many times over the years on the way up to hike Mt. Baldy. It is definitely an easier hike than Mt. Baldy. We got to the trailhead just before 7am and the parking lot was full…just one spot left for us. It’s quite a busy trail. About a mile in we caught up to a large group of women about 20+. They were kind enough to let us pass…whew! It was a bit windy and cold at the Saddle. We stayed here for a few minutes to fuel up for the last few miles. Awesome view from the top. We met some folks who were also part of the 6-Pack SoCal. I didn’t realize there were trees at the summit (unlike Mt. Baldy). I would have brought my hammock and taken a siesta at the top ?
