Being my first of the 6 pack of peaks EVER, I found myself getting beaten up by the mountain! The altitude was probably the most challenging aspect of the hike — and the trail of rocks on the way down the mountain. I don't own a pair of hiking boots, I've always just worn my Asics. This hike made me realize that those will no longer cut it! I rolled my ankle a few times and almost skidded off the side once. So, I have since upgraded to a pair of Columbia's. I met an amazing group of hikers called the YoPro's (Young Professional Hiking Group of Southern California) and joined! I'm very excited to get into summit hikes with a bunch of like-minded people. Cheers!
