The day was fantastic! Moving up the mountain was beautiful with lots of shade until we hit the burn area. You could already see new growth coming up among the bare and rocky ground. Reaching the top with the great views was a definite highlight besides breaking for some much needed lunch! We found many areas to explore before heading downhill. The water and trail were again a site to behold. The last few miles started to be a struggle especially as we walked up that monster of a hill the last half mile. It was wonderful to finish knowing we had tackled the 1st of 6 peaks without any major injuries or problems. We are determined teams looking forward to next week's climbing challenge.
